Hey Mulder, It’s Me

In the greatest news of the year, FOX announced today that The X-Files will soon return with 6 new episodes! Indeed Mulder and Scully will once again explore unsolved cases involving paranormal phenomena. Wonderfully the whole gang is back, including Gillian Anderson, David Duchovny, Mitch Pileggi and creator Chris Carter. Maybe Vince Gilligan will take some time off from the fantastic Better Call Saul and write an episode? And Darin Morgan, I wonder if he’ll join the party, too?

X-Files-Mulder-ScullyFilming begins this summer. Chris Carter told The Hollywood Reporter,

“I think of it as a 13-year commercial break. The good news is the world has only gotten that much stranger, a perfect time to tell these six stories.”

I for one cannot wait! In honor of their return, I offer my top ten favorite stand alone episodes:

  1. The Post-Modern Prometheus
  2. War of the Coprophages
  3. Jose Chung’s From Outer Space
  4. First Person Shooter
  5. Arcadia
  6. Small Potatoes
  7. Darkness Falls
  8. Humbug
  9. Kill Switch
  10. Clyde Bruckman’s Final Repose

Hoo effing hah! I would add “Home” to your otherwise excellent list of great eps. “Postmodern Prometheus” tops my list, too.

I thought about “Home” as well and almost included it rather than “Clyde Bruckman’s Final Repose.” It was tough to come up with just 10!

  3. Sahar says:

Great list! Jose Chung’s From Outer Space features what I call The Mulder Yelp which still makes me laugh even when I just think about it (like now!)
