Meet the Kittehs

Took Bonnie to the vet yesterday for her annual check up and discovered my vet was finding abandoned animals outside her building every morning for the past several weeks. Yesterday someone had abandoned a box of kittens and some four hours later two puppies.

She said they were housing about 9 kittens and the staff was fostering 15, but more and more kept coming. So . . .

meet Monty and Rocky

They were the two males in a litter of 6; all the other kittehs were white. Monty is smaller and is getting over what might be an eye infection; he is very mellow and loves to cuddle. Rocky is a little lion! He’s the tough guy, and loves to play. They are both wonderful! I am smitten.

They’re confined to the guest room for the next 5 days in case they have some sort of respiratory infection. Need to make sure they don’t endanger Boomer and Scooter. In the meantime, Scooter Pie is crying at the door to the guest room. Not sure how the bug guys will greet the new arrivals, but our vet said it was a better option to introduce kittens to older cats. She recommended, and I prefer, males for their personalities.

The plan was to adopt one, but when I saw them I had to take them both. We’re probably crazy to add to our menagerie, but what can we say? We love animals.

They are so much fun!! Won’t meet the big guys for another 5 days, but . . . .

They are such handsome boys, and so lucky to have found a home with you and the big guys. Perhaps they will occupy each other and leave the older kitties alone? You’re sweet for taking both of them. Nothing in the world quite like kittens. Enjoy!
